Activate your license
Get your license key, activate the builder and keep it working offline.
El Mirador needs a license key the first time it starts on a computer. Your keys are always on your account page.
Get a license key
- Create an account and confirm your email address.
- On the pricing page, claim the free beta license - or pick a plan.
- Open your account page. Every license you own is listed there with its key, which looks like
MIRA-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
Activate El Mirador
- Download El Mirador for Windows or Linux from your account page and install it.
- Start it. The Activate El Mirador window opens.
- Paste your license key and click Activate.
The builder checks the key with the license server once and binds it to this computer.
Use the Copy key button on your account page instead of typing the key - keys never contain the easily confused characters 0, O, 1 or I.
Working offline
El Mirador re-checks its license when it starts and every 6 hours while it runs. If the license server can't be reached, it simply keeps working: every successful check is valid offline for up to 7 days (30 days for lifetime licenses). When that time is up, connect to the internet once and it carries on.
Apps you export run without a license and never contact the license server.
One license, one computer
A key is bound to the first computer that activates it. Moving to a new computer? Contact us and we'll release the key from the old one.
Troubleshooting

| License key not found. | Check the key for typos - copy it from your account page. |
| This license is already activated on a different device. | The key is bound to another computer. Contact us to move it. |
| This license has expired. | Renew it on your account page, then connect to the internet. |
| This license has been revoked. | The key was disabled. Contact us if you think that's a mistake. |
| The license server couldn't be reached for too long. | Connect to the internet once so the app can re-check the license. |
| Connect to the internet once to verify your license on this computer. | The key was activated on another computer or by an older version - one online check fixes it. |
| Your computer's date and time look wrong. | Set the correct date and time, then connect to the internet. |
